Queensland Health

QAST works closely with Queensland Health to:

• promote and support nutrition and other health initiatives in schools
• promote safe food handling practices in school food services
• assist health promotion officers and community nutritionists

To support the implementation of Smart Choices, Queensland Health is providing funding for QAST to boost services to school tuckshops.  Queensland Health also contributes to QAST events such as the Regional Convenor of the Year and the Trade Expos in Townsville and Brisbane.

QAST has a great working relationship with the Statewide Health promotion team and currently have two Queensland Health representatives on the management committee.
